So where does the value accrue? To USDC issuers (Circle), not ETH holders. The core price thesis—that ETH will be bought by AI agents as a store of value—is weak. Agents are not investors. They are spenders. They hold the minimum ETH needed for gas, and the rest in stablecoins.

Liquidity drying up. Watch the spread.

Second blind spot: Regulatory overhang. The IMF report called for standards, but it didn't resolve the paradox. AI agents can't pass KYC. That's why they need blockchain. But regulators will eventually demand that the operators—the humans behind the agents—implement KYC at the wallet level. This creates a compliance nightmare.
